HAPPY FEET!

"I am beautiful
in every single way
words cant bring me down
We are beautiful
no matter what they say
words cant bring us down
so dont u bring me down today"
- Christina Aguilera "BEAUTIFUL"

So I just saw the movie "HAPPY FEET" on Saturday, and i found it profound!

You are probably wondering what's so deep about that kiddie movie?

I'll tell you.

SUMMARY:

Mumble was dropped as an egg by Memphis (his dad) which "probably" led to his "being different".

He was different because he had no heart song (which was a big deal for penguins) and he couldn't sing (i love Mumble but his singing was godawful! lol) BUT he could tapdance! While his ability to dance was frowned upon by the penguin clan and considered "hippity-hopping", it was what saved the penguins from perishing from lack of fishes!

Mumble danced his way into the heart of -"The Aliens/abductors, penguins (because they walked upright) who had fat faces and looked very strange"...lmao!- the humans, who decided to save this beautiful and talented specie from extinction by putting a limit to fishing in the oceans.

So, Mumble not only found the answer to their famine problem in Penguindom, he taught all the penguins to tapdance. His "disability" became something everyone wanted to learn.

LESSON LEARNT:

""WHAT MAKES YOU DIFFERENT (DISADVANTAGED IN PEOPLE'S EYES) IS PROBABLY WHAT WILL HELP YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD."

The movie gets five stars in my book, i recommend it for everyone and will definitely see it again. I especially loved the "dwarf" Latino penguins and Lovelace! they were hilarious. I'm not surprised cuz Mambo's(the funniest one) voice was done by Robin Williams (that's one guy I'll always find funny) and he had this way of saying "let me tell something to you" that cracked me up no end.

For those who've seen it, tell me if u saw what i saw in it and for those who haven't, please watch with your kids, little cousins, nieces, nephews and tell them the very important lesson that can be learnt from it.

Ok, with this comment moderation, I don;t know if am really 1st.

Anywayz I won't see the movies, as am not into cartoons. I have to be really bored and cajoled to watch it.

That said I like the lesson form the movie;
"WHAT MAKES YOU DIFFERENT IS PROBABLY WHAT WILL HELP YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD."

Have a lovely week.

Wouldn’t it be lovely if we could celebrate our differences as well as sharing in our similarities but as Schwab says ‘the hardest struggle of all is to be something different from what the average man is.’ Especially because we have been programmed to think we are supposed to be slaves of the ordinary.

You’re so right…

"WHAT MAKES YOU DIFFERENT (DISADVANTAGED IN PEOPLE'S EYES) IS PROBABLY WHAT WILL HELP YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD."

Nice one

Uh ohhh...I might not really be first then... Oh well...

I love kiddie flicks as well. The life lessons you pulled out are so true. Some people hate themselves because they are different, and they forget that God had an intelligent design when creating them, and the designing their destiny.

Glad you enjoyed Happy Feet. I took older daughter to see it when it first opened in the theaters and we both loved it. It was also fun to see Savion Glover as a tapdancing penguin. The brother has mad skills.

sorry, i'm quite base. if there's no blood, i cant maintain my interest.

i have a friend who absolutely loves kids movies. she has dvd's for finding nemo, shrek, everything. i find it amazing

Nigerian Drama Queen said...

I still havent seen Happy Feet. My baby brother absolutely adores it though! I just dont have the patience for animated flicks!

Unknown said...

I haven't seen any animated pics in ages. maybe this would be the one...

Naapali said...

I find it interesting that many people here, especially those that have not seen the movies, consider animation kids movies. The people at Pixar and Dreamworks long ago realized that children do not come to movies alone, and the only way to get blockbuster audiences is to appeal to the adults that have to sit through the movies.

Movies such as Happy Feet, Finding Nemo, the Shreks, The Incredibles, Wall-E appeal more to adults than many of the ridiculously dumb fare that pass for grown up entertainment.

Parakeet said...

Never seen the movie, truth is I dont have the patience for animation. I think the only one I've seen is Shrek 3 and that was becos one bobo like dat wanted to see it die!

But from the sounds of it this is a good movie.

How u dey SMA? Long time!
